TO Support in Vivaldi Browser
hello, thank your for designing/building this amazing extension. not long after using it I decided to buy the donation key version for the added benefits and to support your work. Although I realize there is/was/were no claims that it would work with any browser, I tried and discovered that Tabs Outliner DOES work with the Vivaldi web browser. to an extent. The only problem is when trying to verify that I have the paid upgrade,I am required to sign into Chrome, and when I click that button, I get this web address: "vivaldi://chrome-signin/?access_point=6&reason=0". Is there some kind of workaround I can use to get my account/paid status verified? Thanks so much in advance.
Scroll not working and Unresponsive after latest Chrome update
As for now the problem is fixed in the latest Chrome STABLE.
PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR CHROME to version 32.0.1700.102 (through About dialog)
Would it be possible to increase the contrast on the closed/preserved tabs - I find them very hard to read.
I have found the closed/preserved tab items very hard to read because the contrast between the text and the background is so low (by design?). It would be useful to have an option to set a higher contrast font (I just downloaded the app. It sounds very useful! Will let you know how I like it after I've used it for a while. Thanks.)
For sometime already it is possible to configure colors of the Tabs Outliner main items. See the options.
Just review the bugs and found this issue, sorry for late status update.
Is this project alive?
I wanted to get premium version but it doesn't work (?) last updated is from february 2016. Is this project alive?
Remember window size and position
Would it be possible to remember the size and position of a window that is save-closed? When a window is re-opened at the moment it always appears full height regardless of what it looked like when it was closed.
Some possibility to restore windows in original position if they was saved-closed by green-x or by "close all" is already there for sometime, but this must be enabled in options to work.
Yet the changed position of windows will not be remembered if they was saved automatically in the result of crash or because, for example, they have the custom title or placed inside some group (in this case on close initiated from Chrome they become saved, but with the size and position they have on open, not on close).
The reason for this - to make it work in all cases need implement constant pooling for windows sizes (it's not a CPU or resources friendly and i just don't like this idea), also will be needed to initiate the save on any window size change, and in future an a synchronize event which will goes to server side to synchronize the database. All of this raise too big issues for such a small feature.
Maybe it will be improved in future to cover more cases, when there will be no other more important problems anymore.
Option to always display tab/group counts (not just when node is collapsed)
Option to always display the tab/group counts (at the moment it only appears in square brackets when a node is collapsed). It might also be nice to have information about the current session in the title bar of TO, (ie. tab/group count of current session) and the session/group name (if named/dated sessions is implemented)
Display ? button display "help" in a separate window (like you do with i/"info" button)
The help window is very squished if you keep the TO narrow, and forcing a user to resize their TO window to be able to read it is unnecessary if you can simply display it in a separate window like you do with the info window.
I understand if you want to have a message displayed by default when a user first loads up TO, but you can simply have a link that says "click here if need help using the extension"... or something along those lines, which can then open the full help in a separate window.
Actually there is several other reason for such format. For example I actually want to educate user that it is possible and ok to re-size a TO window.
Set TO Window as a (Resizeable) Sidebar
This would be amazing if possible. There's a reference extension which exists for Mozilla Firefox which is called AIO Sidebar.
Here's the link:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/all-in-one-sidebar/
I don't know if it is possible to attach a sidebar into Chrome. I've been looking for such thing for a long time! We'll be really proud do so!
Unfortunately Chrome does not support real sidebars as FF and other browsers. It is possible to imitate this to some extent using separate windows. It was tried and i didn't like it, it has too many shortcomings. So meantime we have what we have, till the chrome team will not add support of sidebars for extensions.
Easy way to merge windows
As there is currently no way to select multiple tabs from within TO, it would be nice if there was a way to merge windows (perhaps if one "window node" was dropped ontop of another window node it could merge the two windows).
I have run into situation where I want to do this when "cleaning up" a browsing session, and creating collections of tabs by topic/theme/domain. Being able to merge windows would make this process a lot easier/faster than having to drag around nodes one at a time.
Thanks as always for your continued attention to this great extension :)
One other way
Place a group, drag both windows to it, save-close them both, delete the saved windows nodes (they must not be collapsed). Double click on group - it will open as the window with the tabs from both of the deleted windows.
