(Mac) standard keyboard shortcuts don't work anymore with current versions of TO

parahippocampus 8 years ago updated by vladyslav volovyk 8 years ago 3

Just wanted to report that in Tabs Outliner 1.4.127, the (Mac) standard keyboard shortcuts (e.g., "Command-W" for closing a window, "Command-+" for zooming in, etc.) either no longer work or trigger the message to upgrade to the paid version, which I assume is not intended.

I cannot verify whether the problem is also present on Windows machines (for Ctrl-W, Ctrl-+, etc.).

Thanks for reporting this. i will fix Ctrl-Q and the Alt + Q must already be fixed in the version that is released yesterday - v1.4.127. These shortcuts is also possible to changes in the Chrome Settings \ Extensions \ configure commands.

Hi

For Mac this is really annoying because it conflicts with default shortcuts. Also since I don't have the paid version why does tabsoutliner binds to these keyboard shortcuts?

  • Alt + Q which I use for @ symbol in Turkish keyboard, I lose all open windows
  • Command + Q popups the message you must be usin gpaid version for keyboard shortcuts! I actually don't want the shortcuts! :)

tabsoutliner is a great tool, but keyboard shortcuts are something to be careful and break things.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

Just one quick clarification: On Macs, you have both a Control key and a so-called Command key. The Command key is used for system level and application menu shortcuts, for instance:

Command-W: close window

Command-H: hide application

Command-+: zoom into document

Since Tabs Outliner won't use any Command based shortcuts on Mac, it would probably be best to whitelist any shortcut involving the Command key.
