Search without expanding notes

Jorr fa 11 anys updated by vladyslav volovyk fa 11 anys 3
Would it be too much work to implement a search that is smart enough to sift through closed nodes? Currently I can expand all nodes and use the normal web-page search on the TO window, however expanding the nodes is sluggish and if i forget to re-close them and Chrome restarts, it's all gone, I need to go to each one and collapse it, which is extremely annoying. To me the entire "undo expanding all nodes" feature feels a little like a hack. I believe it is only useful for save as html and for search. But it seems possible to implement both of these without relying to expanding nodes or by expanding them, do the job and then collapsing them both.

I realize this would be low priority, but please consider :)
Once again, thumbs up for the good work!

Of course it's a hack.
And of course a better search is very needed and planed.
As many other things... (the tags, for example)
Still this is not in a very low priority, many other new features depends from a better native search (through the TO interface). (to make, for example, the tags to work nicely there is needed a filtered search with auto-complete, so i can assure you that native search is planed and badly wanted)

Have tried restarting Windows 10 PC, but issue remains. Is corrupted database likely? My tree is enormous, I do not prune regularly.

The Future of Tabs Outliner

Tony Confrey fa 3 anys actualitzat fa 3 anys 4

Hello Vladyslav,

I was a premium user of Tabs Outliner a few years back. I very much liked its hierarchical tree model and browser control. Particularly for that point in time it was a very nice piece of work.

Recently I've been developing a quite different tool but with a similar tree structured data model and ability to control the browser. I've been focusing on building not marketing but have generated some enthusiastic support from users even in advance of the 1.0 version. I had some TO users request imports into BrainTool, my extension, so I implemented an ability to do that.

From surveying the activity on the Google Group and userecho site it seems like the Tabs Outliner project is somewhat moribund, but with a number of active and often frustrated users. As you probably know Tabs Outliner will stop working at the end of the year. I think BrainTool is a good match for those peoples needs and having them as users might enable it to evolve faster than it would otherwise.

Are you interested in open sourcing or selling Tabs Outliner? I would like to offer a migration path to BrainTool and the potential for the TO source code to be ported to Manifest V3 such that it can continue to work in 2023.

Thanks for your consideration,

Tony Confrey

restore account

James Peck fa 6 anys updated by Daniel Huffstutler fa 6 anys 12

My tabs outliner extension crashed (chrome said it was corrupt). When I repaired the extension, i was logged out of my account, with no way of logging back in. The crash caused me to lose my current list of tabs, and I cannot restore my backups without having a paid version activated, but I can't login to my paid version! Please help!!

Currently I am experiencing a bug there are multiple entries in tabs outliner for each tab.

The duplicate entries have no text next to them and a spinning loading circle when the tab is open. Is this a known bug? Example:

TO Support in Vivaldi Browser

Snarkmoose fa 8 anys updated by Racko The Third fa 3 anys 17

hello, thank your for designing/building this amazing extension. not long after using it I decided to buy the donation key version for the added benefits and to support your work. Although I realize there is/was/were no claims that it would work with any browser, I tried and discovered that Tabs Outliner DOES work with the Vivaldi web browser. to an extent. The only problem is when trying to verify that I have the paid upgrade,I am required to sign into Chrome, and when I click that button, I get this web address: "vivaldi://chrome-signin/?access_point=6&reason=0". Is there some kind of workaround I can use to get my account/paid status verified? Thanks so much in advance.
