Planned

Make saved tabs as original links instead of the chrome extension links when using The Great Suspender extension to that suspends inactive tabs, or make a similar auto suspend tab feature.

I like using this extension but I also like using the great suspender extension to help manage my tabs. I wish they were compatible so that when I copy a tree to another document or text message then it copies the original link and website title instead of the Great Suspender extension link.

Is there a way to switch between different sessions of taboutliner?

MMCC 7 years ago 0

I have a huge tab outliner with 68,000 links stored in it. It's becoming quite slow so I'd like to use a new copy of the outliner as my main one. However, I'd also like to use the old one once in a while to work from my old stored links.

I tried using the latest version of chrome portable, transferred my old taboutliner indexdb folder for tab outliner to it, then installed taboutliner. All of the 68k stored links show, but then it seems to have problems, like when I make changes to the outliner. like if I remove one tab of a stored window, the whole window gets deleted when I close and open google chrome portable again (it sometimes happens, some times doesn't). Sometimes, the changes I made to the taboutliner session doesn't save at all when I close and open google chrome portable again.

Is there another way to access my old tabs? I read that the paid version has back up and restore from google drive, but would it allow me to access my old taboutliner with 68k links in it, while keeping my new fresher one separate?

Closed tabs remain in Tabs Outliner

J C 8 years ago updated 7 years ago 6

This issue just cropped up within the last month.  When I close tabs in Chrome normally, the expected behavior with Tabs Outliner was that it would delete that tab.  Now when I close a tab, it's not deleted in Tabs Outliner.  I have a huge mess on my hands as a result.  See screenshots below for an example of this behavior.  The window had 3 tabs, then 2 of those tabs were closed, yet they remain in Tabs Outliner.  This was not an issue before.

Trash/save icons should stay visible when you click one of them

Peter Eliot 11 years ago updated by vladyslav volovyk 10 years ago 6
Currently, when you click trash/save on a node, the buttons will be gone until you move the mouse or click again.

Given how often I click in the same spot to close a series of nodes, I would like if when you click trash/save, it keeps the icons visible/clickable for whatever is now under the mouse, without needing a mouse-wiggle or click to activate.

Interesting, on Windows and Ubunta it's definitely works for me as you describe in preferred behavior, maybe this is something Mac specific, need to investigate.

Taskbar icon for Tabs Outliner in Windows

ilker Kocyigit 10 years ago updated by Szymon Kołodziejczyk 10 years ago 2
Hi, Great tool, just started using after getting tired of Firefox. A question :
I am working on multiple monitors and virtual desktops on windows 8.1. When I need to visit a webpage I first find a Chrome page (or open a new one if there is none at the current desktop) and then click Tabs outliner icon to bring it to the front. Instead I wanted to "pin" Tabs outliner to the taskbar so whichever monitor or virtual desktop I am at I can reach it with one click from taskbar easily. I tried a below things without success :

- Open Tabs outliner and pin it to taskbar (it just pins Chrome)
- Save Tabs outliner link and pin that shortcut to taskbar. (It opens tabs outliner as a regular tab)

Is it possible to pin tabs outliner to taskbar ? Actually the best would be a taskbar icon plus a keyboard shortcut.

Keep up the great work!
ilker.

Hide closed windows in the list

Matthew Cochrane 11 years ago 0

This would allow you to get a quick overview of the windows that are actually open. It would allow you to quickly see where you want to open a new tab.  Maybe a button like the expand/contract one to show/hide the closed windows?

separate webapps from normal browser windows?

Jim Witherspoon 12 years ago updated by Viktor Kruglikov 7 years ago 2

I often run create "application shortcuts" to run a webapp in its own window.   Webapps are not meant to be run as a tab along with other tabs in another window.  Maybe it would be a good idea to separate webapps from regular browser windows in the tabs outliner interface.  They could be shown at the top level of the outline, not as being "in a window".   Or they could all be put into a "virtual" window called "Webapps".  This would reduce clutter and confusion.
