Instead of a new window, have a dropdown from button?

Nick Portelli 12 years ago updated by vladyslav volovyk 12 years ago 1

Or have it an option?  I don't think Chrome allows sidebars like Firefox does.  Maybe even resize the windows so they are side by side and viewable at the same time?

Window being restored when it shouldn't

MZ Guy 11 years ago updated 11 years ago 2
My Chrome settings are set to "Open the New Tab page". However, on each Chrome restart, Tabs Outliner (I imagine it's not Chrome) is duplicating one of the named windows in my tree, and loading it immediately. How do I prevent this?

Have you considered increasing the default transparency of the bottom left UI?

Kyle Milnes 12 years ago updated by vladyslav volovyk 11 years ago 3

In the "new user" scenario, had I not read the docs, I might not of know the bottom left UI was there.

I have an ATI card, attached is a screenshot for what its worth. I do use a program call F.lux  that automatically adjusts my monitors to be kind on my eyes, based on time of day. I disabled this and still feel the default setting is too hard to make out?

With something behind, I totally missed it when I first loaded the extension.

Looks perfectly unnoticeable, as intended.

Integrate with Task Management

MZ Guy 11 years ago updated by Lusine Avedis 7 years ago 5
Tabs Outliner is great for organizing tabs. I currently use Tabs Outliner for "deal with sometime" web projects. I'd like to be able to manage those projects fully, with deadlines. I now have a large tree in TO, with named groups and windows. As things stand now, items get lost in the tree, and I forget to deal with them. It takes to long to go through the tree every day to see if there is something I need to deal with. Remember the Milk allows for a single URL associated with each task, but no way I can figure to "refer" to my tree. I could always name things in TO to match a task name in RTM, then search the tree for the task name every time, but I wonder if someone has a better solution. Any ideas? Thanks.

just want to thank you for the best tabs solution ever. i'd like vote it up at the chrome webstore, but those bastards want me to sign on AND create a profile.  I'm damned if i'll give them ways to target their marketing at me, so sadly my only recourse is to post this expression of my gratitude.

all the best

Double clicking saved window does not open any tabs?

Chris McDaniel 10 years ago updated 10 years ago 2
Hi, great extension, love it.

My question - most of the time when I double click on a saved window I just get a new window with a new tab page and nothing else. Is there a way to have it open all the tabs under that window? I would just like to restore it to the state it was in when I saved it. It seems to happen once in a while but I cannot reproduce the circumstances...

Thanks!

Tabs don't open

Paul Szymanski 2 weeks ago 0

Oftentimes I can not open tabs from old sessions. This makes TO useless.

Log:

request2bkg_activateNode {request: 'request2bkg_activateNode', targetNodeIdMVC: 'idmvc34', isAlternativeRestore: false}

Error handling response: TypeError: Error in invocation of windows.create(optional object createData, optional function callback): Error at parameter 'createData': Error at property 'width': Value must be at least 0.

Tabs can only be opened in a new session

Gordon Olmstead-Dean 2 weeks ago 0

Paid User issues - Tabs Outliner seems to work very well for several months, then lose its mind and become a mess.

Specifically, I cannot open any tabs by double-clicking them.

I have hundreds of tabs, organized into groups.  When I want to open a tab I go to the relevant group and click on it.  Many of these are things I use daily, mostly spreadsheets, etc.

This no longer works at all.

Someone suggested this might be because I'd recently added and removed a screen from the PC and apparently the outliner doesn't like this.

CTRL-Click to open Link in Last Window does not work (nothing happens)

SHIFT-Click to Open Link in New Window does not work (nothing happens)

If I have a NEW window open, I can double click and the tab opens.  But it opens in the new window.

Obviously this completely breaks Groups.  Yes I can salvage my links, but they are now a random mess of whatever I used last.  I'm getting along on an emergency basis, but the amount of work to rebuild each group is staggering, and I'm currently looking for a more reliable alternative with similar features.

Is anyone aware of:

A) Why this would happen in the first place and
B) Any way to restore the expected behavior - e.g. I click on a Group, all of the tabs in the group open, I click on a tab in a group, it opens and other tabs in the same group will open in the same window?

Feature Request: Rolling restore of tabs

dave nicponski 8 months ago 0

When i restore windows with large numbers of tabs (for instance, after a chrome update), rather than trying to restore all 20-30 tabs in a given window at once (which may push chrome into a very bad state), load a couple tabs, then load another couple as those finish, then a couple more as _those_ finish, etc.  Spread the resource demand over some time rather than all at once, where chrome misbehaves badly.
